Robin brought the lives of the great singers to Radio 2 in some fifty full-length programmes which he wrote and presented. The long running series A Tenor Sang was followed by A Diva Sang, Gems of Operetta, Singers of the Century and Festive Singers. Special programmes examined Pavarotti at Sixty, Webster Booth and Paul Robeson. He did an in-depth interview with Jose Carreras. He likes to tailor each talk to the needs of the group inviting him.

With his wife Ann he links words and music under various titles. Having worked for the University of Nottingham and the Open University he can speak in depth. His job as consultant to a wealthy Saudi took him to exotic locations. He is that rare speaker: an entertainer who covers many fields, all of them from personal experience.
