Wendy developed her early interest in jet by buying interesting pieces in sale rooms and junk shops. Jet working was a bygone craft, so in learning to restore and date the different styles and shapes, she was obliged to evolve her own techniques. As the collection grew she started to sell some pieces at the Jenny Hill Gallery and to antique dealers. It was this that drew her to the attention of Liberty's of London, who invited her to sell to them. Soon she was repairing for Liberty's and selling to them on a regular basis, and as a result of this they mounted an exhibition of her collection. Then came a permanent display at the Regent Street store, and items being used on fashion models in Vogue, Marie Claire, etc.

She won the Worcestershire Woman of the Year competition in 1996, and she has designed jewellery for Diana, Princess of Wales and the Princess Royal. Wendy is a superb and amusing speaker. Her passion for her subject comes over to make her a most popular speaker.
